ARCHway is launching its third program year in early 2022 with a theme of Overcoming Obstacles. The AIA Columbus mentorship/leadership initiative connects young architects with firm leaders in the Columbus architectural community. It is a comprehensive approach to mentorship that also focuses on developing leadership skills for emerging talent and seasoned professionals. The program structures multiple modes of active interaction such as group mentoring, reverse mentoring, and peer-mentoring, through thought provoking sessions.
ARCHway participants will:
- Strengthen and explore pathways
- Build network skills and abilities
- Establish and grow professional and personal resources
The program will run from February – June 2022. Sessions include:
|Session 0||Connect: Speed Mentoring Mixer||February 10|
|Session 1||Discover: Knowing Your Talents||March 3|
|Session 2||Engage: The New Workplace Culture||March 24|
|Session 3||Listen: Stories of Architects||April 7|
|Session 4||Energize: Keynote Presentation||April 28|
|Session 5||Understand: Achieving Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the Workplace||May 19|
|Session 6||Celebrate: Reception||June TBD|
Interested architects must have less than 10 years of professional experience and be an AIA Member (AIA or Associate AIA).
Those interested in being an advisee must fill out an application, and send a resumé and a letter of recommendation to firstname.lastname@example.org by December 17 at 5 PM. A committee of AIA members will review applications and select advisees.
We hope to hold all sessions in person so we ask that all participants are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to the start of the program or show a negative test within 72 hours of each program. Vaccine card, photo of the card, or a negative test result will be checked at Session 0.
Upon acceptance to ARCHway, a program fee of $300 will be due by the first session on February 10, 2022.
