Enjoy an hour of storytelling with local architect Melva Williams-Argaw, AIA! Presented by Diversity by Design.

Melva Williams-Argaw, President and owner of XYZ Professional Services, LTD is a registered architect of over 35-years of planning and architectural experience.  Her area of expertise is providing oversight of major design and construction projects, and program management. Having provided the leadership for the completion of $600 million of the Memphis City Schools’ $1.2 billion master plan and $21 million Warm, Safe, and Dry Program for the Columbus City Schools’ $300 million master plan, Ms. Williams-Argaw demonstrates a unique portfolio of accomplishments. Other notable appointments are The Ohio State University Facilities Operations and Development overseeing capital projects and the University’s Job Order Contracting program, and the State Architect’s Office State of Ohio as a construction claims analyst in the Project Control Department.

Melva has a Bachelor of Architecture from Hampton University and two Master degrees from Ohio State in City & Regional Planning and Public Policy & Management.  While at Hampton she pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Gamma Theta Chapter currently active with Alpha Sigma Omega Chapter.  She has served as a Adjunct Professor at Ohio State.  

She loves the performing arts having been an actor in local productions such as with the The Jifunza Production of Wine in the Wilderness an Alice Childress play; Love and Marriage, a Women-at-Play production; voice-overs for McGraw-Hill Publications, and industrial videos. She has two children: Bruque and Noah.
