IKM is seeking an enthusiastic Project Architect with 5+ years of experience in the healthcare and science and technology sectors to support our growth in Cleveland, Columbus, OH, and Pittsburgh, PA. The Project Architect will be responsible for leading projects from schematic design through construction administration. The person in this role should be collaborative, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
The Project Architect will have the following responsibilities:
Solid technical foundation in the building sciences that leads to an understanding of how buildings go together and how to effectively document that process
Ability to lead projects from schematic design through construction administration
Ability to coordinate staff to achieve outstanding results
Responsible for design and technical underpinning of assigned projects, including investigate, evaluation and recommendation of design solutions that best meet our design aspirations and the client’s goals
Commitment to deliver outstanding results at every step of the delivery process
Responsible for project specifications including data gathering and analysis
Knowledge of local and regional jurisdictional authority and code requirements (including NFPA, IBC, FGI, and other codes or standards of care)
Reviews and coordinates submittals and shop drawings
Coordinates QA activities and incorporate review comments
Ensures that all design deliverables meet project requirements including schedule, budget, and scope as outlined in the contract
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as an architect
Current Architecture registration required
Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture (professional degree) is required. Degree must be from an accredited school of architecture
Software Familiarity with Bluebeam, REVIT, AutoCAD, Rhino, Enscape, Microsoft Office 365, SketchUp, and the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
