Code requirements for public safety DAS / Emergency Responder Radio Systems (ERRS) are rapidly changing. It’s essential for public safety that architects understand system design requirements and how to coordinate with the local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) to get approval for ERRS. This presentation will focus on lessons learned from case studies in a variety of commercial environments, including healthcare, retail, university, K-12, and office.

Presenters include Integrated Building Systems President Chip Chapman and Director of ERRS Services Bill Ehrgood. Chip will provide the integrator perspective on best practices for space planning and how construction materials and other factors impact ERRS design and installation. Bill, who recently retired after 20 years with the Columbus Fire Department, will provide the AHJ perspective. Prior to joining the team at Integrated Building Systems, Bill managed and oversaw ERRS compliance, and now his role is to educate the design community on this important life safety topic. He will update participants on new code requirements for ERRS, and what to expect for the future.
