Health [e] Columbus

AIA Columbus Academy of Architecture for Health hosted the Health [e] Columbus Symposium on May 12.  This event brought together AEC professionals to explore how Columbus can focus on the health and wellness of residents.  The morning started with a Community Panel discussion featuring Zac Boyer of Stonewall Columbus, Sue Villilo of ADAMH, and Edward Johnson of Columbus Public Health followed by a Provider Panel featuring Patty McClimon of Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Elizabeth Seely of the Wexner Medical Center.  The keynote speaker for the event was Columbus City Councilmember Shayla Favor. Attendees had an opportunity to work through topics discussed earlier in the day during the Breaking Through Columbus Charrette.  Each group took on a different persona and examined what barriers that persona might face when trying to access care.  Thank you to Chris Haedt, AIA, Peter Bardwell, FAIA, Ed Cheshire, Rachel Hudson, Megan Klingelhofer, AIA, Angela Kolosky, AIA, Elizabeth Krile, Christine Losh, AIA, and Jennifer Weaver, AIA for their efforts in planning this event.
