The course, aligned with ASHRAE standards, guides you through an iterative modeling process for seamless integration into your design workflow. A case study will demonstrate real-world integration, showcasing performance benefits and improvements, making this course essential for architects committed to sustainable and efficient design.

Mohamed El-Sayed, PE, CEM, LEED AP BD+C
Mohamed El-Sayed, a seasoned Professional Engineer with over 20 years of experience, excels in energy modeling and management. As the leader of Energy Solutions services at EA Energy Solutions, he focuses on optimizing energy efficiency in new constructions, renovations, and existing buildings. Mohamed’s leadership has driven significant achievements, including Ohio and Indiana’s first LEED Platinum commercial buildings and Ohio’s first LEED Platinum school. He holds a master’s degree in environmental health & safety from the University of Cincinnati and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Zagazig University. Mohamed is also an active member of the USGBC’s Ohio Chapter and other professional organizations.
Marcus Hazelwood, CEM, LEED AP BD+C
Marcus, the Principal and Director of Building Optimization at EA Energy, brings 15 years of industry experience with a deep expertise in energy modeling. He leads a wide array of energy and sustainability services, enhancing energy efficiency in commercial, mission-critical, higher education, and municipal systems. Marcus guides clients through energy audits, building simulations, benchmarking, green building certifications, measurement and verification, and commissioning. He also analyzes energy efficiency-related tax rebates and utility incentives. Previously, Marcus was a project manager at two national engineering firms and an Energy Analyst at Harvard University.
