Transit has once again become part of the conversation of everyday people engaged in envisioning a better city. Three speakers from different backgrounds will look at historical precedents, current models, and the investigation of future transit plans here in Columbus to put the current conversation into the larger context. Individual speakers will give presentations on the history, the broader vision, and the current situation of transit in Columbus, Ohio. The presentations will conclude with a panel discussion and then open up for questions from the audience.

Join the AIA Columbus Committee on the Environment as they present about sustainable site design. This course, presented by Brian Quackenbush and Chris Fleming of EMH&T, is intended to inform architects and designers on the basics of sustainable site design through review of the operating mechanics and practical application of each type of storm water management system. The course includes discussions on costs of each type of system as well as paybacks analysis versus more traditional storm water systems. Through case studies, architects and designers will learn real world applications of each of these systems as well as understand their long term maintenance needs. In order to reinforce what the attendees have learned, the course will end with an innovative hands-on site design game.

This seminar will take place in the Mezzanine Conference Room. Parking is available in the NBBJ parking lot.
