A few weeks ago we asked you to stand up for architecture in Ohio - and now your help is needed more than ever.
Despite a last-minute substitute bill and ongoing conversations with the sponsor, the Certified Interior Design Bill (HB 504) passed the Ohio House Economic Development, Commerce and Labor Committee last Tuesday - and now we need you to act to protect architects in the state. The revised bill still completely fails to address the primary concerns of architects including:
- The practice of interior design as defined in the bill significantly overlaps with the practice of architecture, creates confusion and will lead to the unlicensed practice of architecture.
- The newly created regulatory board lacks necessary expertise and meaningful oversight.
- There is no evidence of a genuine need to regulate interior design to protect public health and safety.
The bill will next come up for a vote on the House floor - can you take one minute to send a message to your representative to protect architecture in your state?
Now is the time to make your voice heard - stand up for architects in Ohio TODAY.
