Chapter Meeting May 17: Design Leadership in Ohio

As part of our 2011 series “Design in the Midwest and the Midwestern City,” we have planned an evening to celebrate the great architecture being created here in Ohio, inviting several prominent design architects to share their work with us. And so, Mike Schuster, of Michael Schuster Design (Cincinnati), and Mary Rogero, formerly of Rogero Buckman (Dayton), will join Tim Hawk, of WSA Studio, at the podium. Not only will they demonstrate that great work is being accomplished by Ohio architects, they will address some of the weightier issues for design leaders in Ohio: Do we need to prove to the world that we do it here, too? Do we think we lack credibility? What is the effect on us, on our prospective clients, of having outside design talent for high profile, high budget projects? Is there an idea that the talent is less good in Ohio? Perhaps our voices are good but different. These and other issues will be at the heart of our discussions. Bring your questions for the panel discussion portion of the presentation.
