Join AIA Columbus as we offer a tour of the first “usonian-style” house to be added to the Rush Creek neighborhood of Worthington, Ohio in at least 40 years. The tour of the house and the grounds will focus on the major aspects of design and what it means to design a “Usonian” house that compliments an existing historically-preserved neighborhood. The discussion will start with the design process and how that was used to facilitate the acceptance of the design within the requirements of a review process that hasn’t convened in 40 years. The sustainable features of the house will also be highlighted, as this is a pioneering project for LEED residences within the state of Ohio.
